So ……
Welcome my website where I share stories of riding to and visiting places in North America and some others, on my Honda ST1100 and ST1300 Sport Touring motorcycles.
If you are reading this, there is good chance that like me, you have an innate curiosity about riding motorcycles and going places - places far removed from the urban sprawl and congestion of our Inner Cities. Places of great natural beauty and wide open spaces.
If you think that through this website - my labor of love, that I hope to share some of these memorable tales with you and you also think that I am looking for a very small way to showcase bits of the natural beauty and history of this great country I now call home, to try and give you an insight to what it is really like to travel with a true sense of freedom, making a right turn or left turn out of pure curiosity and choice, to meet, interact and make some friendships and relationships along the way, going to and visiting places that I continue to dream and talk of, which adds an element of a continuing and broadening educational aspect to my life, riding style, mindset and interests, of wondering where the road goes, what’s over the next hill, around the next bend or what could possibly lie at the end of the road .……. you are very perceptive!
I write out of my passion and a love for sharing my excitement about people I have met and places I am fortunate to have visited, in the hope that if only one person reading my travel logs or views some of my photography and videography is inspired and encouraged enough to embark on a similar quest/journey, I will feel happy and proud to have been somewhat of a catalyst.
All my photographs in this website are untouched, i.e. not “photo-shopped”, all self-taught and learned out of personal interest. My personal challenge is to utilize the equipment I use to capture and represent what I see and experience as best as I possibly can without any superficial "make-up". I'm more attracted to authenticity and I do not profess to be a professional.
Photos that do not carry my Sport Tourer Photography watermark are not mine by creation and I give credit and rights to their origins and ownership for use in sharing them with you.
As an educational and mind-broadening mission that a lot of this has also ”morphed” from, I find that the more I see and learn of my surrounding world, the more I realize how little I know.
My short term wish is to ride all 48 contiguous states of this great country we live in, visit some of the popular/iconic and not so popular places – for starters - all this whilst seeking out thrilling motorcycling roads this beautiful country has to offer that so many others before me have talked and continue to talk about.
Each ride has its own special meaning for me. Some are destination rides, of which my prime objective is to visit particular places in my quest for more knowledge and entertainment and others are for the sole need of the therapeutic properties and qualities that I derive from a change of pace from the daily “rat race” of my inner-city dwelling life, but mostly for both reasons. All of which are in combination with enjoying the well and not so well known great motorcycling roads along the way which this great country has to offer us, whilst sampling a little bit of Americana (American pop culture) along the way. This, I know, is not even the tip of my iceberg!
In short for me, contrary to a coined-phrase that I have heard many a person use, that “It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey” ……………… IT IS ABOUT THE JOURNEY AND DESTINATION!
I do what I can to minimize my “footprint” in this world, to do my part to help preserve it for the generation following us in the hope that they too will come to inherit and get the chance to experience and appreciate the wondrous things and places I am blessed with and the chance to have visited, just as those before me have done.
I have a very long “bucket list” of places I still wish to visit – on my motorcycle.
I wish to experience a lot more “Americana” and visit the iconic places and the not-so-famous places, taking it all in and coming away with richness attainable only by experience.
I continue to pray that I will be blessed with continued good health and the means to see and experience such places in my lifetime - not from the recliner in my living room at home!
So come along on this journey with me and live vicariously through reading my journals, in good and in bad weather.
I plan to add to this digest with each journey I have already and will embark on. I will joyously share my experiences. Where pertinent, I can and will offer helpful trip-related information (technical and other) that I can. So do come back and revisit from time to time.
On that note, once again, welcome to my journal.
Ernest.

Working on my material is a slow, tedious process, making me constantly feel like there are just not enough hours in each day for me!
So please be patient with me and know for sure that I continue to persevere and chip away at this labor of love.
